About The Coal Shed, One Tower Bridge

SquareMeal Review

The mezzanine level at The Coal Shed One Tower Bridge was designed with private hire in mind. The stylish and moody space can be hired for flexible dining, an intimate private dining room for up to 20 guests, or parties can hire the entire floor for a standing reception accommodating up to 50 guests.

Description

The Coal Shed in London Bridge comes from the Black Rock hospitality group, founded by Brighton-based restaurateur Razak Helalat and known for The Salt Room and Burnt Orange, both in Brighton. So, if you're looking to get a taste of the action from this much-hyped collective in London, The Coal Shed in South should be next on your must-visit list.

The restaurant is the perfect place to organise a group event and the team are vocal about how enthusiastic they are to host larger bookings. From corporate events to birthday parties and even wedding receptions, they've done it all and are more than happy to help you pull the day or night off without a hitch.

The space is set over two floors with the main dining room and bar on the ground floor and a private dining room and semi-private mezzanine on the first floor. While, you are of course welcome to book out exclusive use of the private dining spaces, you can actually take over the whole restuarant as well. In fact, if looking to throw the party of the year - why not make the entire venue yours?

In terms of the vibe, The Coal Shed has a cool, industrial aesthetic with statement lighting, metal-framed furnishings and a focus on raw materials. It certainly looks the part and suits a plethora of events. The private dining room offers seated dining for between 14 and 20 people, depending on the layout of the space. Here, you'll find access to a TV for presentation and all the tech you might need for meetings.

If you're looking for a more open feel, the mezzanine can cater for up to 44 people and still absorbs some of the restaurant's buzz with a socialable layout and communal-style tables. While the mezzanine level is ideal for much larger groups of up to 50 for a seated dinner, and more for drinks and snacks.
